One of the biggest headaches through this whole process has been the roofer. He is supposedly the best and best priced in the Heights area but he definitely does things on his schedule. But after waiting a few weeks, we finally have a new roof on the house. The shingles are 20 year Sovereign in the color of Weathered Wood. It is better to have a lighter roof color in order to reflect the sun's rays; however, I did not want light gray. I choose the next lightest color, which is a mix of grays, browns, greens, and tans. It should go well with any exterior color. It starts the transformation of the project to really feel like a house.
The next step is the painters. The painters have started to scrap all the old paint of the house prior to priming the house. So far they have gotten the right side complete on the house. The painters will also scrap the old paint off the inside of the windows (which has already caused some causalities). We lost a few window panes in the process. After the house is scrapped, the painters will prime and paint the house. The exterior will be painted a nice sage green with a cream accent and burnt red accent color. We have selected 4 colors of each the main, trim and accent color to sample before we make the ultimate decision.
