What is next?

With the issuance of the 2nd building permit yesterday, there will be a lot of progress and changes next week. On Monday, the concrete company will be at the house to poor the concrete pillars for the 6' extension to the back of the house and additional support for the current house. We are adding 3 additional pillars to support the stairs and room upstairs. Later in the week, the framer is expected to begin construction of the additional square footage in the back bedroom and the garage. Towards the end of the week or beginning of the following week, the driveway will be poured. There should be many exciting new pictures in the next few weeks to come. Keep checking in.

BUILDING PERMITS #2

Great news! This morning, we received the Building Permit for the addition and garage. Construction will begin again. This is so exciting!

Inspections Passed (Most of Them)

Last week, we passed some key inspections: electric and plumbing.  We got the Green tag from the City.  However, we have experienced a delay on the final inspection of the framing of the remodel.  The framing inspector will not give the house a Green tag until the HVAC installation is complete.  And the HVAC installation will not be started until the addition is complete.  

Just another thing we have learned.  The result is a change in the construction schedule and the action plan.  We are requesting the building permit for the addition and the garage tomorrow from the City.  Once we receive the permit, the concrete will be poured for the foundation and driveway next week.  The next major stage of construction will follow, which will lead to many more pictures.  Stay tuned...

What is next?

So the next few days are going to be very big. Plumbing inspection is Thursday, electrical inspection is Friday and final framing inspection is Tuesday. After that, we can pull the permit for the addition and begin even more construction. Crossing my fingers that we pass all 3 inspections.

The Latest...

It has been a while since my last post, but honestly, there have been a lot of uneventable happenings in the last 2 weeks.  Over these two weeks, we have accomplished the following:

- Foundation has been repaired and shored up

- Plumbing rough-in is in process and will be completed tomorrow

- Electrical rough-in is in process and will be completed Friday

- Framing has fixed their mistakes

It has been frustrating over the past 2 weeks because you just don't SEE a lot of things happening, but they are happening.  Below are some photos of the rough-in for the electrical and plumbing.
